Manchester first to kick off the 2016 season
Due to popular demand, Manchester will once again be running their 7th Annual Touch Tournament.
Manchester are once again holding their season-opening February tournament, to take place on Saturday 20th February. The tournament has Men’s, Women’s and Mixed divisions and has previously attracted teams from all over Europe (England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France and Switzerland) in the tournaments 6 years of Winter Touch-fest hosting.
Competition in the Biggest Club Touch Tournament in Europe will again be fierce again, with the some national sides already entering into the Men’s and Women’s comps and a number of European clubs fielding strong teams in the mixed category, they’re looking forward to starting the season with a bang!
This year, the mixed division will also host teams entering the Development Touch Series (DTS). The Steeden DTS will be a number of mixed gender tournaments (3 men & 3 Women) designed to progress the development of new and established clubs and players. Clubs can enter all or just one tournament during the season and all will be hosted by clubs that want to provide a great playing and social experience. Any questions regarding Steeden DTS please contact – events@englandtouch.org.ukTop European Referees will be out in force too, hopefully with a number of referee coaches also in attendance to provide coaching, training and feedback to those looking for a badge upgrade in 2016.
If last year’s event is anything to go by, which saw some great dynamic and skilful Touch on display and the numerous nail-biting drop-offs which ramped up the excitement too, it’ll be another great event!
