Halton Touch host a great CTS #3

Halton Touch host a great CTS #3
On Saturday 29th June 2013, 16 teams turned out to take part in the first CTS tournament to be held in Widnes, home of Halton Touch.

The start of the day did not look promising with grey clouds looming. However, the North West of England didn’t falter and was drenched in glorious sunshine more suited to a scene from Eldorado than Widnes!

Overall all the groups were competitive and no one came to make the numbers up, from your well drilled to your new starters, everyone gave their all. By the end of the group stages teams were just warming up ready for the battle ahead, the knockout stages.

So with the sun shinning, people left the safety of the gazebos to watch friends and foes go toe to toe, the teams now vying for those four trophies, pushing themselves knowing a slip could end their dreams. Alas only 4 could win on the day and on that day those four winners were the below... A clean sweep for the north!

Cup:

Wigan Touch Warriors 4-3 CSSC Wookies

Plate:

Halton Touch 5-4 Nottingham

Bowl:

Manchester Chargers 5-4 Newcastle’s Percy Pirates

Shield:

North Wales Touch 7-4 Warwick Knights.
