Coaching course proves to be a huge success

On Sunday 16th Jan, England Touch held their first Coach Education course: ˜Beyond Level 1™. This was a day designed to bring current club coaches up to speed with some of the more technical areas of the game, so that they can raise the standard of their club players. The course was well attended with a range of coaches from club to international level.

As the first course of it™s kind, course presenters Mel Carson and Taryn Pile delivered a range of sub unit skills in the indoor session, this involved progressing basic drills to demonstrate how different elements of the game can be coached to all skill levels. Following lunch, the afternoon focussed on an outdoor session, looking at the finer points of the defensive strategy.

Despite cold weather, the course was very well received by all participants, and England Touch will certainly be holding more coach education sessions in the future. These courses are just one of the benefits of being an ETA member. England Touch would like to thank Mel and Taryn for their time and expertise in delivering the course.
