Kevin Hill returns to England Touch as new Event Delivery Lead

England Touch has today announced the appointment of Kevin Hill as the Association’s new Event Delivery Lead.

Kevin is one of the most experienced events managers in European Touch, having helped to deliver three Touch World Cups (Coffs Harbour, Putrajaya x 2), three European Touch Championships (Swansea, Jersey and Nottingham), four European Junior Touch Championships (Nottingham, Dublin, Stirling and Paris), and the 2019 European Club Championships in Maidenhead, before getting international Touch restarted in Manchester with the Autumn International Series in 2021.

Within the England Touch structure he formalised what is now the National Touch Series, which contributed towards a rapid growth of club, player and referee numbers.

Kevin will deliver events, including the Nationals, Mens National Touch Series, Womens National Touch Series and Mixed National Touch Series, all competitions which have gone from strength-to-strength over the last few seasons.

“Kevin was the standout candidate for the role and we’re delighted to welcome him back into the ETA,” said England Touch General Manager, Sammie Phillips. “He was a big part of our growth in the 2010s, and was a valued member of the FIT delivery team at multiple international events.

“Kevin will be building on the outstanding contribution of Aisling Musgrove, whose efforts have given England Touch’s events a reputation for both quality and consistency of delivery. She stepped down at the end of last season and we will always be grateful for the time and commitment Aisling put in over several years. Chris Simon was also a key driver of the development of our events programme, especially in the last three to four years.

“The delivery team is looking forward to working with Kevin as we seek to take our events to the next level.”

England Touch CEO, Vince Mayne, added: “We have taken a strategic decision to invest more in our events delivery, and are excited to see what innovations Kevin can bring to enhance the experience of our events for players and spectators alike. Improving our events will add value to our members and affiliated clubs, and in turn encourage more clubs to be a part of the National Touch Series.”

Kevin is relishing the opportunity.

“I’m really excited to take on this role following a very successful few seasons on and off the field for England Touch,” he said.

“Touch has been a massive part of my life for over 10 years and I'm keen to get to work alongside our clubs, players, referees, and numerous volunteer groups to continue to grow the sport and inspire current and new generations of participants.”
