England Touch event streaming update from CEO Chris Simon

England Touch is announcing that unfortunately we won’t be streaming the Men’s National Touch Series and Women’s National Touch Series (MWNTS) this year.

Despite excellent viewing numbers for the recent Nationals event, we must prioritise where we invest in the sport, and based on the commercials from last year’s MWNTS and the desire to keep entry fees for events the same as 2022, we have decided these events will not live streamed.

While entry numbers for the MWNTS are up on last season, our cost base has also increased, and we need to ensure the Series overall makes a positive contribution to ETA overheads.

In the absence of any sponsorship or other funding, to live stream all our events this year, we would have had to increase team entry fees by approximately £75 per team, with no guarantee of all teams getting a match on the live stream. We decided to keep entry fees static and prioritise the wider promotion of our Nationals and Mixed NTS events.

If you would like further information or know of anyone who might be interested in sponsoring an ETA event, please get in contact with Chris Simon at chris.simon@englandtouch.org.uk.

In the meantime, we look forward to welcoming you to Banbury next weekend.

Good luck and best wishes.

Chris
