Welcome to all new arrivals
The opening round of the 2022 Development National Touch Series saw national tournament debuts for Truro Trojans, Liverpool Otters, Nomads and Bedford Eagles. But England Touch is not just welcoming teams into the NTS, as more and more clubs are affiliating to the sport’s national governing body all the time.
England Touch is rapidly approaching 200 affiliated clubs, leagues and competitions, with new clubs including:
- Wisborough Green, Billingshurst, West Sussex
- Brighton and Hove Sea Serpents RFC
- Peterborough Lions
- Warwickshire Police Touch
- Dunstablians RUDC
- Aethon Touch Rugby, Birmingham
- FN Barbarians, Watford
- Chipstead RFC Flames, Surrey
- Bishop’s Stortford RFC
- Scarborough RUFC
- Liverpool Tritons
- Chipping Sodbury Touch, Bristol
“It is really pleasing to see clubs choose to join us after seeing the benefits of affiliation with England Touch,” says England Touch Chief Executive, Chris Simon.
“At some point it would be fantastic to see them in the National Touch Series, but affiliation is much more than just playing in competitions, as we have spent a lot of time on developing the support we can offer as a national governing body, from comprehensive insurance cover and access to development courses through to the full suite of advice for safe return to play as we came out of lockdowns.
“As we prepare to launch our 2020s Vision, this broadening and strengthening of the all-important participation pyramid will be a crucial foundation for the years to come.
“I’d like to thank all of the new clubs for their faith in us and commitment to grow our sport, and to welcome them to the Touch family!”
