Elite NTS Round 2 preview
It is game on in Burton this Sunday as the Elite National Touch Series moves into the all-important second round.
NQ Rebels top the league standings after winning in Banbury a fortnight ago, and with Burton RFC just a 90 minute drive from Manchester the geography and travel time is more in their favour than Round 1.
But this also applies to Nottingham Hoods, who pushed the Rebels all the way in the final last time.
Nottingham’s reward for that performance is a challenging pool which includes London Scorpions, Oxford and Cheltenham Tigers, who marked their first appearance in the Elite NTS by pushing PFT Foxes all the way in the Bowl final.
The Foxes are up against Galaxy London, Cambridge Hornets and London Eagles 2, which will be a good test of how far the Manchester-based club have come.
The final Cup pool has a north-west rivalry between Wigan Warriors – who spent a day with their club’s other teams as part of a Wigan Warriors Foundation initiative – and Crewe and Nantwich, with London Eagles 1 and Cambridge Bees the other two teams.
Tap off on Sunday is at 10am, with the Cup final starting at 5pm. All of the field 1 action will be live streamed as usual!
