London Irish partnership takes next steps with Touch-specific youth camps
The partnership between England Touch and London Irish is taking a big step forwards with the first joint Touch-specific camps for young players.
The camp will be held at Maidenhead RFC on Thursday, April 15th, with a morning session for U6s to U11s between 9:30am and 12noon, and an afternoon session for U12s to U17s between 1pm and 3:30pm. Players will be grouped according to their age.
Places cost £25 per child per session and can be booked by CLICKING HERE.
We will be looking at evasive running and handling, as well as the specific skills and tactics involved in Touch Rugby with the help of Coaches and Elite Athletes from England Touch.
We would like to stress that children of all levels and experience are welcome and we encourage new players to come and give non-contact rugby a try in a welcoming and friendly learning environment.
As an added extra for attending our camp, each participant will receive a gift and the “stars of the day” from each group will additionally receive an England Touch National Squad Steeden Ball.
The camp will be run in line with the RFU, ETA and government guidelines making sure that the camps are safely delivered for participants and staff. We have taken extra measures to ensure that every camp attendee is safe.
In addition to the Maidenhead camp, England Girls 18s head coach Andy Penniceard and Women’s Open Euros and World Cup captain Zan Hudson will be coaching at the London Irish Community Camp at Southwark Tigers RFC between April 13th and 14th.
