Eight referee upgrades in Norfolk

There were eight Level 1 referee awards at the Steeden Development National Touch Series in Wymondham this past weekend.

Uma Ramaswami shrugged off the rain and wind on the Saturday tournament to coach and assess the referees throughout the day, handing out the badges to the successful individuals, who were:

Alana Gauntlett (Crewe and Nantwich), Julie Coulter (Surrey G:Force), Andrew Sharpes (Chester), Emily Preston, Aran Sritharan, Ryan Angelum (all CSSC), Alistair Alexander (Canterbury) and Emily Harding (Nottingham).

The referees’ department is aiming at having coaches at every National Touch Series and Nationals event throughout the rest of the season.

Individuals who are looking to achieve a referee qualification can register their interest with Erica Robertson via refcourses@englandtouch.org.uk
