Nottingham and Chester seal Emerging Men's and Women's NTS titles

Nottingham Men and Chester Women finished the Emerging Men’s and Women’s National Touch Series in winning fashion, their Cup titles in Cheltenham securing the overall titles in the process.

The Men’s competition was very competitive, with G:Force the only team to make it through the pool stages with a 100 percent winning record.

For their part Nottingham made their way through to the knockout stages in second place behind CSSC Men, but with wins over Cheltenham and G:Force in the quarters and semis the Hoods came up against Chester in the final, and with a 4-2 win they had the Cup title in the bag.

In the Women’s tournament it was form team Chester who dominated, winning all four of their pool matches. G:Force were close behind in the knockout standings with three wins and a draw, and it was those teams who made it all the way to the final.

They served up a competitive final, too, which went into a drop-off with the scores at 3-3 on the hooter. Chester scored the only touchdown in the extra time period to claim their own Cup title and with it the overall crown, too.

In all 26 teams took part in the Emerging Men’s and Women’s NTS in 2019, 10 in the Women’s side and 16 in the Men’s. Of those 18 competed in multiple tournaments, with Cup titles being shared among four clubs.
