Steeden Development Touch Series set for Midlands start

The Steeden Development National Touch Series (NTS) taps off this weekend in Nottingham.

Fourteen teams from as far afield as Manchester, Norwich, Horsham and Cheltenham - as well as plenty of others in between - will be heading to Lady Bay, home of rugby union Championship outfit Nottingham RFC, on Saturday.

This is the first of five Steeden Development NTS events that will be held during the course of the season, with one per month until September at locations spread across the country.

With only two Elite players allowed per squad the emphasis for all these tournaments is giving players the opportunity to test themselves at an appropriate level against their peers from the rest of England.

Matches will be 25 minutes long (two 12-minute halves with a one-minute half-time), and each team will have a series of round robin games in the morning with knockout games in the afternoon.

There is no live streaming of this event.
