The Community course, run by Schools Liaison Officer Tom Humphreys, is ideal for people who are new to the sport and just starting up their own club. It is also perfect for teachers who are looking to set up Touch sessions in their schools. The course covers the coaching basics, such as the role of the community coach, communication, group management, basic rules and game skills, practical coaching and how to plan, prepare and review sessions.
The Intermediate Course is aimed at current and potential club, regional and school coaches and is accredited by the Federation of International Touch as a Level 1 course. Topics include a wide range of coaching roles, skills, sports safety, Touch-specific fitness, game sense and planning, and has a full assessment process. The courses in February and March are being run by England Men’s Open head coach Tim Osborne.
