England Medical Team - Recruitment

The England Touch Physiotherapist provides physiotherapy services:  encompassing assessment, treatment and management of all players associated with England Touch Association in partnership with The Head of Medical Services.

Job Time Line 2014/2015:

  • Closing date for application                November 30th
  • 2 days interviews – Manchester         December 20th  (a further date is TBC)
  • Training session – Manchester           February 21st
  • Training session – Manchester           April 11th
  • NTS – Venue TBC - Midlands            May: 30th
  • NTS – Venue TBC - South                 June: 13th
  • NTS – Venue TBC - North                 July 4th
  • NTS Final – Venue TBC                     July 18/19th
  • ETA Nationals – Venue TBC              August 7/8/9th

Remuneration:

  • £40/day for NTS and National events
  • Travelling expenses dependent upon location

Principles and Responsibilities

Include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • To provide all aspects of physiotherapy care/trauma management
  • To liaise with all members of the medical team in treating and monitoring players injuries
  • Report to Head of Medical Services on all matters arising with players injuries and progress
  • Attend all training sessions to ensure adequate training for NTS medical cover
  • Attend a minimum of 1 tournament and provide pitch side cover, first aid, assessment and management of injuries
  • Be trained and up to date with emergency medical procedures and acute pitch side care (including spinal injuries and cardiopulmonary resuscitation as a qualified physiotherapist)
  • Keep up to date records of assessment, treatment and plan of all players involved in care

 

Performance measures

  • Develop and maintain effective communication skills with Head of Medical Services, tournament organiser and the medical staff
  • Provide accurate documentation of injuries, treatment and rehab progress.
  • Provide end of match report and end of tournament report to the Head of Medical Services.

 

Knowledge and Experience Required

Essential
  • Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Chartered Physiotherapist
  • Qualified minimum 3 years
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • 1-2 years’ experience working in MSK
  • Pitch side or emergency medical qualification
  • Taping skills
Desirable
  • 1-2 years’ experience working as a team therapist

Head of Medical Services, Cari Thorpe.
