W27s put through their paces

Great day was had by all at the 'Athlete Centre' this weekend. The Women's 27s Squad preparing for Euros where put through their paces by coach Barrie-Jon Mulder at Oxfords premier strength and conditioning facility, who's strap line is #TrainLikeAPro

Strength and Conditioning involves the physical and physiological development for the enhancement of movement and sports performance at all levels. The girls were definitely put through their paces in readiness for their upcoming tournament in Swansea.

Coach Sammie Phillips had this to say about how her team is shaping up

"The girls were learning this weekend about the importance of conditioning as they enter the final phase of their training in preparation for competition. Barrie-Jon and the team advised the girls about how to get their bodies into the best state for competition and how to maintain that condition throughout the potentially gruelling Euros schedule of up to 3 x 40 minute games per day for 4 days.

The girls also took part in training games against Oxford Touch Club at Gosford All Blacks RFC and went through the final elements of their game plan prior to the Final All England camp in Loughborough in 3 weeks. Tired muscles aside, the girls were in great spirits and morale within the team is high as we all look forward to the imminent European Championships"

Good luck to all those heading to the Euros in Swansea!
