Manchester set to tap off the 2013 season in Europe

Manchester are once again holding their season-opening February tournament, to take place on Saturday 23rd February.  The tournament has Men’s, Women’s and Mixed divisions and has attracted teams from all over Europe (England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France and Switzerland) for its 4th annual Touch-fest.

Competition in the Biggest Club Touch Tournament in Europe will again be fierce with the majority of the English regional sides entered into the Men’s and Women’s comps and a number of European clubs fielding strong teams in the Mixed category, they’re looking forward to starting the season with a bang!

The event is tied in nicely for the newly created English and Welsh regional teams to have some good competition before heading towards the nationals in April, along with the Scottish Team heading to the NTLs in March.

Referees will be out in force too and they already have 18 confirmed full time referees, with a number of referee coaches also in attendance to provide coaching, training and feedback to those looking for a badge upgrade in 2013.

Can the Scots hold onto their title, as they move from men’s to mixed division? Will the Sharks top the table again in the women’s? Will it be an all South affair in the men’s cup comp this year… who knows, but if last year’s event is anything to go by, which saw some great dynamic and skilful Touch on display and the numerous nail-biting drop-offs which ramped up the excitement too, it’ll be another great event!
