Charging to the Oxford title

Charging to the Oxford title

Oxford promised fireworks with their Bonfire Tournament at the weekend, but no one could have anticipated such a nailbiting finish to such a great day's play.

Despite the 9.30am start the floodlights were on as the final continued into darkness between the Manchester Chargers and Geezers. With the teams all square at full-time, a drop-off got underway, and still neither team gave anything away.

Eventually, with the teams playing just three-a-side there was a break from the Chargers and they took the title.

The final reflected the day's good-spirited play between teams from throughout the UK, and even some Swiss friends!

Special thanks went to the day's refs, who worked throughout the day.
