Exeter Hurricanes set early pace in 2025 UTC

The University of Exeter have set the early pace in the national rounds of the 2025 AICPA&CIMA BUCS University Touch Championships.
Having set the standard for recent years, Exeter’s first team took their winning run from South Round 2 into the national level by beating Bath’s first team in the Cup final at Nottingham’s Riverside Sports Complex.
Historically two of the strongest set-ups in the UTC, Exeter and Bath had also met in the South Regional Round 2 Cup, and they served up a competitive match. Bath led 2-1 in the first half, but a run of tries from Exeter took them clear, 5-3 the final score.
The first teams from Loughborough and Nottingham Trent reached the semi-finals, with other winners including Edinburgh 1 (Plate), Manchester (Bowl), Cambridge (Shield) and Surrey 2 (Salver). Royal Veterinary College won the Grenade Bar Challenge, showing lots of imagination on their social media channels.

Nearly 400 players represented 19 universities, with many of them visiting the AICPA&CIMA tent to find out more about management accountancy and career paths on offer in the sector.
The next round will be at Riverside Sports Complex on Saturday, 8 March.
