Pathways & Performance Leadership Team – update

Sammie Phillips (Director of Pathways & Performance) has been building her leadership team, and we are pleased to announce the following appointments.

Cari Thorpe’s role has been reshaped into Head of Performance Support Services.  The PPLT are pleased to retain her knowledge and experience, both of our athletes and the environment they compete in.  She will continue to build her multi-disciplinary team.

Jack Harris moves into Head of Referee Development. This was a straightforward move as Jack has already been picking up the bulk of this work – but moving referees into the Pathways & Performance team helps us consider our referee development alongside that of other participants.

Warren Steele has been appointed as Head of Performance Logistics. As well as managing a brilliant tour in Sterling this year, he has been covering this crucial role on an interim basis.  Warren is currently building a team of divisional leads and team managers, who will provide more specialised support throughout the campaign.

Mike Evans-Jones has joined ETA as our new Head of Athlete Development, responsible for designing, managing and evolving our performance pathway, from community to elite. Mike is uniquely qualified for this - as well as having played international Touch, he currently is responsible for athlete development and performance in multiple sports in preparation for a variety of international tournaments (including Olympic Games), and has taken teams to the Commonwealth Games.

We are still appointing to the PPLT – and to the wider workforce – so if you have any questions or want to consider positions, please see the vacancies list on our website or contact Crystal Ravenscroft.
