Launch of Priority Touch online resources for teaching/coaching Touch
England Touch has announced a partnership with Priority Touch who have developed an online platform of teaching/coaching resources based on Priority 10 (P10), which is a conceptual framework for Touch and reinforces the priority or the “non-negotiable” elements of the game.
The following concepts are comprised within the P10 framework:
- Dominating the Contest (Winning the Rollball)
- Defending Space
- Defensive Profile
- Attack Lines of Running
- Pre-Touch Positioning
- Conditioning Opponents
- Attacking Vision/Scanning
- Passing for Advantage
- Phase Play
- Switching the Point of Attack
P10 is the life’s work of England's High Performance Head Coach, Peter Bell, and leverages 30 years of his experience teaching in schools and coaching throughout all levels of the game from novice players to Touch World Cup winning teams (winning gold four times with the Australian Women’s Open Team). Peter will be assisting our 13 High Performance Squads in this year’s Touch World Cup in Nottingham (15-21 July) as well as helping teachers/coaches to develop their Touch programmes in schools and clubs.
The resources within Priority Touch provide teachers/coaches with a complete programme to deliver to their students/players and the materials are designed in such a way as to provide learning for teacher/coach and student/player alike.
As well as current technical information and tactical strategies, the teacher/coach will receive a range of resources to use, including lesson/session plans, season templates, checklists, coaching cards, drills, games and videos. The programme covers three distinct levels: introductory, intermediate and advanced levels.
Priority Touch also provides opportunities for future networking with other like-minded professionals (teachers/coaches) to update, enhance and share your knowledge and experiences.
Each programme can be purchased individually (approx. £100) or as a bundle of three (approx. £200). Each membership will give access to all of the purchased resources and any updates published during the membership.
Testimonials:
Phil Gyemore – PE Teacher & current Australia Men’s Open Coach
“For those of you who are teachers and coaches like me, you know the importance of up-to-the-minute technical information, as well as effective learning experiences for your students. Priority 10 (P10) has all of this and more. We use this framework as a basis for our programmes and have seen first-hand the results within our Academy. I would encourage you to incorporate the P10 concepts into your coaching and sessions” – 5 STAR REVIEW
Emily Hennessey – PE Teacher & Australian Women’s Player & Junior Touch Coach
“As a PE teacher and Touch coach, I am always looking for better ways of doing things in my classes and with my Touch teams. If you’re like me, you don’t have elite athletes who can do it all. Priority 10 (P10) is perfect for identifying what I need to be teaching. It has comprehensive coaching tips, simple drills and great ideas but most importantly, the kids can make sense of what I am teaching/coaching. I would definitely endorse the P10 programme and knowing Peter Bell’s expertise and experience as I do, it gives me the confidence to recommend to other teachers and coaches” – 5 STAR REVIEW
