Participating nations confirmed for 2023 Euros

England’s opponents have been confirmed for the 2023 European Touch Championships, which taps off in Vichy, France, on Wednesday, August 9th.

England’s teams head for their first overseas trip since the 2019 Touch World Cup seeking to retain the ranking of overall European champions, and in turn give themselves a springboard into the winter training programme which will build up to next year’s World Cup.

In all 14 nations will be represented in Vichy from Sweden to Spain, with England the only nation to be represented in each category.

The opposition are as follows:

Men’s Open (reigning champions, England) – Belgium, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Scotland, Wales

Women’s Open (reigning champions, England) – Belgium, England, France, Germany, Wales

Mixed Open (reigning champions, Wales) – England, France, Guernsey, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Wales

Women’s 27 (reigning champions, England) – England, France, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, Wales, England W35

Men’s 30 (reigning champions, England) – England, France, Luxembourg, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Wales, England M35

Mixed 30 (2022 winners, England) – England, France, Germany, Italy, Scotland, Wales

Men’s 40 (reigning champions, France) – England, France, Scotland, Spain, Wales

Women’s 40 (first tournament) – England, Scotland, England Lions, Eurostars

Men’s 45 (reigning champions, England) – England, France, Italy, Scotland, Switzerland, Wales

Men’s 50 (2022 winners, England) – England, France, Wales
