England Touch extending commitment to volunteer development

England Touch has announced the appointment of the Association’s first Head of Volunteers.

As an Association which relies on its volunteers at all levels, from team management and tournament organisation up to strategic direction and the executive team, England Touch has made extending its commitment to development in this area one of its key priorities for 2018.

The new position is being filled by Nikola Halse, who has built up considerable experience and expertise in the area over the past 20 years. She has performed research for USA Rugby and marshalled at the British Grand Prix, and is currently a board member for Women’s Aid Integrated Services in Nottinghamshire and an executive member of Nottingham Touch Club.

Chief Operating Officer Gregg Cropper, commented

Our team of volunteers is growing all the time, so it is essential that we have people and processes in place to ensure that we are making the best use of their talents but not burning them out. Nikola is passionate about sustaining and growing our volunteering at England Touch, and has the ideal experience to help us in this area.

A second new appointment has been announced, with Libby Turner taking over from Lois Lau as Head of Elite Logistics.

Libby is described as an 'admin machine' and has recently taken on the role of assisting the smooth running of the administration of our HP set-up. In the short term, the 'Welbeck' Elite Selection Camp is her focus.
Libby was the Club Captain of 310 University Students whilst at Exeter University, the largest Touch club in England, before graduating last year. Chairing weekly meetings to make critical decision on how the club is run, and organising a committee of 10 in their roles to help run the club efficiently.
Please join us in welcoming them to the team!
