Help guide England Touch’s elite teams

England Touch has two opportunities to help guide the nation’s elite teams.

MEN’S OPEN Ben Smith’s untimely return to Australia means that we have a rare opportunity to coach one of England’s flagship teams.

Tim Osborne has taken the reins on a caretaker basis, but England Touch is now accepting applications for the permanent position.

The successful applicant will be responsible for leading the Men’s Open management team and guiding the group of players through their 2018 international competitions – including the European Touch Championships in Nottingham – and on to the 2019 Touch World Cup in Malaysia.

Experience coaching either with an England national team or in the Ryvita Touch Nationals is essential, as is a FIT Intermediate (Level 1) coaching qualification. It will be a mandatory requirement for head coaches to get the FIT Advanced (Level 2) coaching qualification in 2018.

The head coach must attend individual team training sessions as well as England high performance weekends, with between two and 10 hours of preparation and review work likely per week.

Expressions of interest must be received by December 31st, 2017.

A knowledge of leading trends in coaching, including coaching science, sports science and the appropriate application of technology to assist performance is desirable.
