Mascot design competition

Mascot design competition

Mascots help play a significant role in engaging and captivating young audiences and inspiring them to participate in activity.  Our mascot will help to support the growth of our sport amongst younger children.

Rather than relying on professional illustrators, England Touch want to tap into the unbridled enthusiasm and creativity of young people and they are urging children across England to get involved in the competition. England Touch are challenging children and young people across the country to design a mascot that represents the Touch Community in England.

This competition is open to anyone who thinks that their mascot design is worthy of becoming the official England Touch new member.

We are looking for a character that is imaginary and original. He/she/it could be an animal, an inanimate object or even a space oddity that captures the excitement of the sport and the imagination of the public.

We want to inspire people to think differently and creatively. This is a great opportunity for children to dream up a truly one-of-a-kind mascot. We want to let their imaginations run wild.

Entries can be hand drawn or submitted electronically.

Submissions will be judged on creativity and artistic quality, as well as how well they represent England Touch. Entries also should include a brief story about the character and should be no more than 250 words.

A special England Touch panel will choose the top six designs after the date for submissions closes on 31st March 2014. These six designs will then be featured in a nationwide online voting contest this spring.

The winning mascot design and its story will then be revealed in time for the countdown to the European Championships in August.

We will work with a professional illustrator to bring the creations to life The winning mascot design will be made in to our official mascot. The mascot will be showcased at all England Touch tournaments and be used to promote our sport across the country and at other events and play a significant role in our European and World Cup campaigns.
